Will I experience heavy peeling or redness after my AlumierMD chemical peel?
Not necessarily. While some clients expect visible peeling across the entire treatment area, most experience only mild flaking—similar to what you might see after a light sunburn or tan. In many cases, exfoliation happens at a cellular level, meaning you may not see it, but your skin is still renewing itself. AlumierMD peels are light to medium-depth and are carefully formulated to minimize irritation, redness, and downtime.
What should I expect immediately after my chemical peel?
Right after your peel, your skin may feel slightly tender and more sensitive to sunlight as it begins the renewal process. Peeling, if it occurs, usually starts within 3–5 days and reveals fresh, rejuvenated skin underneath. This is also when your homecare products become more effective, as they can better penetrate the newly refreshed skin.
If I don’t see peeling, did the treatment still work?
Absolutely. Visible peeling is not the only sign of a successful treatment. Exfoliation may occur microscopically, meaning it happens beneath the surface and is not visible to the naked eye. Whether or not you see peeling, your skin is still benefiting from the cellular turnover and rejuvenation triggered by the peel.
